Thoughts?

"The way to know if you should keep someone in your life is to stop doing all the things you do to maintain a friendship or a relationship with that person. Those that are real or are genuine will notice and make an effort to correct wrongs; those that don't - don't matter."

I read this quote on my cousin's blog and it got me to thinking. Sometimes I do feel like some of my friendships or relationships are one-sided. Like I am doing all the work to keep it going. Its frustrating at times and sometimes I question if its even worth it? But then I start to think, if I stop caring, am I wrong? Is that rude or 'un-Christian' like of me? Is it so wrong to want people to hit you up (call, text, email, postal mail, shoot whatever) and let you know that they love, miss, or care about you without you having to prompt it?

...Let me know what you think?

it's hard when there is no reciprocity. But I just try to be persistent in keeping up with people and hope that they can tell I really care about them -- that they are important to me.

Sometimes it's hard because it's like the other person doesn't care, but in the end I think it's the right thing to do.

I agree with rell. do what you can to show a person that you are genuine, but don't kill yourself trying to maintain a friendship/relationship by yourself. if the other person doesn't care, then they really must not care that much for you.
